Guatemalan Coffee Exports Rise by 4.8%

If in fact June exports increased with respect to June 2008, the coffee growing season is still recording a decline of 7.24%.


In June 2008, 486,167 60 kg sacks of Guatemalan coffee were exported, an increase of 4.8% compared to the previous year when 463,678 sacks were exported. However, for the coffee growing season between October 2008 and June 2009, exports fell by 7.24%.

According to Emisoras Unidas’ website, “The National Coffee Association (ANACAFE, acronym in Spanish) predicts that by the end of the current growing season, which is next September, local exports will be reduced by up to 8%, with respect to the previous year.”
