Zara opens store in Honduras

The event was announced in the online version of TExtil.net which highlighted the opening of the store "at the foot of Mount El Picacho" in Honduras.

Inditex inaugurated market number 72 with the opening of a branch of the Spanish brand, ZARA, at the Multiplaza Mall in Tegucigalpa.

The Mall is undergoing a million dollar remodeling process which includes basement parking for 200 cars.

GAP Comes to Panama

The GAP clothing chain will open its first store in Panama in late February.

This opening in the new phase of Albrook Mall, marks the start of expansion into Central America and the Caribbean.

The company plans to open two more stores this year in Panama, one in Metromall and one in Multiplaza.

Chain Stores Plan Expansion in Costa Rica

The Salvadoran Siman Group, a conglomerate that operates franchises for Zara, Zara Home and Massimo Dutti and the department stores Aliss, Yamuni, Carrion and Ekono has announced expansion plans.

In 2013 the Siman Group will open a new 10,000 square meter store in the new stage of Multiplaza del Este Mall which will generate 250 jobs.

As part of its expansion plan, Cemaco will open three new stores in 2011.

On March 18 it will open a new store at the Mall Flores del Lago.

Maria Fernanda Jaramillo, executive vice president of the company, told Prensa Libre that "an express format will be created by the middle of this year at the Avenida de las Américas, in area 13.... The expansion plan also includes opening a store on route to the Atlantic...".

Inditex expands in Guatemala

The Spanish chain Inditex expanded its textile empire to the Oakland Mall where on Thursday it inaugurated its new Stradivarius and Massimo Dutti formats.

Alejandro Azurdia, Stradivarious manager, explained that the Inditex group stores are geared towards particular tastes and life styles: "Pull and Bear is for urban youth, Bershka is for fashion youth, Zara has a wider appeal.
