Panama City airport to auction food court sites

Officials at the Panama City Airport are preparing a list of sites to auction in its food court area.

Space for stores selling shoes, groceries, clothing and toys in the Tocumen International Airport will also be auctioned this year, says Erick Goldoni, marketing manager of Tocumen S.A.
Six or seven food sites are being prepared for auction now.
Goldoni said the duty free area of the airport generated more than 100 million dollars in sales last year, an increase of 39.3 percent.

Works Begin on Food Court at Tocumen Airport

On November 15th the company will start works on the IMC dining area of the airport in Panama.

The executive director of International Meal Company (IMC) for Central America, Jose Algarin, stated that with the $ 4.5 million investment will enable an area of 1,400 m2, where 10 restaurants will operate.

Bids Will be Invited for Tocumen's "Food Court"

Rafael Flores, manager of Tocumen Airport, informed they are getting everything ready to start "as soon as possible".

Flores did not specify exactly when they will invite bidders to the process, but the general objective is to have the court ready before the airport's new northern terminal is inaugurated.

International Meals Corporation (IMC) won the administration of the food court of the Tocumen Airport, in Panama, for the next 15 years.

The company will invest about 5 million dollars in the next 4 months, introducing marks as Margaritaville, Cinnabon, Häagen Dazs, Quiznos, Teriyaki, Carls Jr., Dominos, Chesters and the local franchise Maritanos Café, explained to prensa.com its director, José Algarín.

Tocumen Food Court Bidding Pushed Back

Although bidding rules are completed and reviewed, the document still needs the formal approval of the Administrative Board.

Juan Carlos Pino, commercial manager of the airport, explained they expect to make the formal invitation to bid three weeks from now. Only invited companies will be allowed to participate, as they want participants to have experience in the area.
