Panama: $18 Million in Water Treatment Plant

The Aqueducts and Sewers Institute will improve its treatment plant in Santiago, Veraguas.

Works Include enabling the sewer system in the capital of Veraguas and in Sná, in the south of the province.

In a press release, the Institute informed they will also install storage tanks and pumping stations.

For the second half of 2011 sewers authority IDAAN plans to build a water treatment plant in the city of Colón.

Rodrigo Barragán, IDAAN executive, told Bnamericas that they are conducting feasibility studies for the project, which would be capable of handling 114 million liters a day.

Panama Invites Bids for Sewage Treatment Plant

On April, authorities will invite bids for conducting a feasibility study for building a water treatment plant in Colón.

Representatives from Idaan, the National Sewers Institute, commented that if the project turns out to be feasible, they would proceed to invite bids for its construction.

Panama to Buy Water Purification Plants

January 2015

Preparations are being made for February of the specifications of the tender to build and expand water treatment plants in Santiago, Veraguas and in different areas of the provinces of Panama and Panama Oeste.

At the moment conditions are being revised including the specifications for the tender and it is hoped that it will be published on the purchasing website in February.

$2 million for Water Supply Improvements in David

The funds have been earmarked for improvement works at the Water Treatment Plant in Los Algarrobos and water intakes from the rivers Majagua and David.

From a press release from the President of Panama,

Nearly 2 million dollars ($ 2 million) will be designated, via Conades, for improvement works at the Water Treatment Plant The Algarrobos and water intakes from the rivers David and Majagua, a commitment by the national government to equip community residents in the district of David with better quality and quantity of drinking water.
