No growth in remittances to Honduras in 2009

The Central Bank of Honduras (BCH) estimates that in 2009 the growth in remittances will be 0% compared to this year.

As of December, the BCH estimates that income from remittances will be $2.7 billion, an increase of between 8 to 9% compared to the same period in 2007.

The president of the Bank, Edwin Araque, said that the amount that they will receive in remittances next year will be similar to the $2.7 billion for this year.
