Nicaraguan Exports Increase 15%

In the first seven months of the year, exports showed a significant increase in volume (14.9%) and value (13.3%), compared to the same period in 2011.

According to the Data Processing Center for Exports (Cetrex), at the end of July, the total value of exports was $1.635 million.

"There was similar behaviour in the volumes of exported products, which until July 30, 2012 - according to Cetrex - reached 1.137 billion kilograms, up from 989 million kilograms last year, when they decreased slightly compared to the 1.051 billion kilograms in 2010", reported Elnuevodiario.com.ni
Economists forecast annual growth for 2012 of 17%, down from 2011 when it reached 22%.

Nicaragua: $2.6 billion in Exports Projected

February 2012

This year the Center for Exports (Cetrex) projects an amount of exports ranging between $2.6 and $2.7 billion.

In the first month, January, alone exports totaled $224 million, 17.4% higher than in the same period in 2011.

"Jorge Molina, executive director of Cetrex noted that this will be a 'good year', as there is projected growth in the sale of sugar and beans, two products that provide high-volume exports.

Nicaraguan Exports Total $1.786 million

In the first nine months of the year, exports recorded an increase in value of 23.66% compared to the same period in 2010.

According to the Center for Exports (CETREX) for the same period the volume of exports reported a decrease of 5.18%.

"Although there has been reduction in the volume various exported products, international prices of the country's leading exports, have remained high relative to 2010", reported Laprensa.com.ni

Nicaraguan Exports Down by 21%

In April, a total of $121.2 million were exported, compared to $154.2 million during the same period last year.

Data from the Exports Processing Center, CETREX, reflect an increase of 7.33% in volume.

Nicaraguan exports dropped in January

There was a reduction of more than $36 million in foreign sales in January 2009, in comparison to the same month last year.

Gustavo Alvarez says in an article on EL NUEVO DIARIO.com: "The growth rate for exports, which in the last few years had a sustained growth of around 20%, started the year with a 27.9% drop.
