Three bills boosting e-commerce are waiting to be approved at Congress in the short term.

Honduras: Law on E-Commerce

January 2015

Congress has approved on its second reading, the 28 articles of the draft decree creating the Electronic Commerce Act, which seeks to facilitate the creation of online trading.

From a statement issued by the Congress of Honduras:

The decree will be approved this week because the objective of Congress is to promote microentrepreneurs to sell their products online during this Christmas and New Year season.

E-Commerce Regulation in Honduras

An Electronic Commerce Law project, recently introduced to Congress, aims to guarantee Internet transactions.

Among other things, the law intends to regulate electronic document and signatures, signature certification companies, accreditation processes and documents needing certification for acts and contracts.

The National Bank of Costa Rica has announced an agreement with PayPal so that their corporate clients can receive payments in their accounts from online sales.

The Banco Nacional (BN) and the online payment firm Pay Pal will announce today, Thursday April 26th, an alliance to facilitate online sales, customers can pay using an internationally recognized system and companies can receive money easily.
