Monday, March 22, 2010
Pending topics include access for Central American agriculture products to Europe (banana and sugar) and sustainable development.
The countries of the isthmus have proposed finalizing the technical aspects of the agreement during this last round.
Central American negotiators expect Europe to improve its offer for sugar, coffee, banana, meat and rum.
The teams are fine-tuning a regional strategy to pressure the EU to begin discussions on sensitive topics such as sugar, banana, and fruits.
Central America and the EU will hold a round of negotiations in March to "expedite and energize" the agreement of association.
