New Flight Between Costa Rica and the U.S.

From January 14th, 2011, Apple Vacations Tourism Company will offer a direct flight between Liberia and Chicago.

The new route will be operated by the airline USA3000, with vacation packages aimed at middle and upper-middle class citizens.

These packages "... include tours of three to four nights at La Fortuna and Monteverde. Apple Vacations also offers tours to San Jose, Manuel Antonio, Arenal, Tortuguero, and Turrialba".

Copa Launches New Panama - Honduras Flight

On March 1st, the carrier will start operating a daily frequency between the cities of Tegucigalpa and Panama.

The route will be served through Embraer 190 aircraft, capable of seating 10 passengers in business class and 84 in economy.

Nonstop Service Between El Salvador and Chicago

Starting November 15th TACA offers direct flights between El Salvador and the U.S. city of Chicago.

The flight will operate twice a week in an Airbus A319 Jet.

This is a new choice for a direct flight, in addition to the existing connection through Guatemala, for passengers traveling between these two cities and will also offer convenient connections for travelers to Lima, San José, Santiago, Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.

Direct Flight Costa Rica – London

October 2010

Thomson Airlines will operate a direct flight between London and Liberia airport starting November 2nd.

The flight will be operated once a week by a Boeing 767 with room for 258 passengers.

Interviewed by Carlos Ricardo Benavides, Minister of Tourism, says; "This flight will generate a significant increase in British tourists with a 14 day stay, with varied travel options which include different areas of the country like the North, the Caribbean and North Pacific.”

New Flight Between San José and Medellín

May 2010

Starting July 15, Taca will operate four weekly frequencies between San José, Costa Rica and Medellín, Colombia.

The airline’s new non-stop flights will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

“Taca will also increase the number of flights linking Costa Rica to Bogotá, and Panama to Guayaquil (Ecuador)”, reported
