The tender is for controlling the green areas and maintaining the drainage systems for rainwater at Tocumen International Airport, SA.
The tendered work includes cutting grass and weeding around the outer polygon and easements, including clearing out and removing debris to an off-site location,cutting grass, pruning trees in designated areas and the disposal and / or treatment of waste from the control of vegetation in landscaping.
Referring to the maintenance of drainage systems, clogged ditches need to be cleaned at regular intervals and to have a slope dug so that water flows away as quickly as possible and the area is kept clean. Also required is cutting the grass and other vegetation that grows on the slopes.

The Municipality of Guatemala, under the Project GUA / 04/022 "Metropolitan Development Program of the Municipality of Guatemala", in its capacity as Employer, is making a call, through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to eligible bidders to present sealed offers for the Procurement of Services for the Clean and Green Program (42 projects).
The reference price is $15 million, the approval meeting was held on Monday 17 and proposals are due on 16 January 2013.
The first announcement of the best value tender was published on November 1 on the website PanamaCompra and the approval meeting should have taken place on Friday November 9.
The cost proposed by the winning company is the highest of all the bids, and exceeds the reference price by $900,000.
The company Áreas Verdes Tocumen was awarded the contract for maintenance of the international airport for $15.3 million, more than the $14.4 million that had been set as a reference.
