Germans Interested in Palmerola Concession

The operator of Munich airport has announced it is participating in the tender for the construction of the airport in Palmerola, in partnership with the Honduran company Emco.

The Honduran president and ministers, visiting Germany, confirmed that the German company has already presented its proposal in the tender for the construction and operation of the new Palmerola airport, in Comayagua.

Vice President of International Business at Munich airport, Ralf Gaffal, met with Juan Orlando Hernandez and "... indicated that it was a good opportunity for the Government of Honduras to express its interest in participating in this project and also provide information about the airport in Munich and the implementation of airport practices that contribute to improving air port operations. "

Laprensa.hn reports that "...The winner of the tender for the concession of Palmerola will be released later this year; with the opening of the airport expected to open up new air connections between Honduras, the United States and Europe, which will contribute to an economic take off in the country. "

Laprensa.hn reports that failure to reach an agreement with InterAirports has meant the resumption of the process "to define the economic model, how the bidding will be conducted and the nature of the contract between the state and the company that will finally take over the project. "
