Panama EXPO 2011 closes with $3 million in business transactions
• Panama EXPO 2011 received more than 7,000 visitors and tripled its size with a total of 230 exhibition modules, attended by 150 local and foreign companies who had the opportunity to make nearly 3,000 business contacts.
• This year, the activity took an more international turn, receiving visitors and exhibitors from 20 countries.
• In the fifth edition of EXPO Panama, business transactions were conducted by the order of $3 million, a figure that was recorded for the first time to measure the impact of the internationalization of the fair.
The project was carried out in conjunction with the National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) and with the support of the Ministry Trade and Industry (MITI) in order to promote growth of logistics sector, a very important industry for the development of the country, which accounts for 24.3% of gross domestic product (GDP).

In its sixth edition, the exhibition welcomed more than 8,000 visitors, there were 3.738 business contacts and it closed with agreements made worth $4.5 million, 50% more than in 2011.

The event ‘Expo Logistica’ will be held at the ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama, on the 11th and 12th of October 2012.

"EXPO Panama has managed in its five previous versions, to position itself as one of the three major exhibitions in the region and we aim to continue to grow and professionalize the industry locally and internationally via this important series of conferences", said Albert White Eagle, President of the Organizing Committee of EXPO Panama 2012. "The exhibition took an international turn last year when it received representatives from 20 countries, counting both exhibitors and visitors", said White.
On October 14 and 15, companies will show their products and services, forming contacts between themselves and potential customers.
Panama Logistics Expo 2009, to be held at the Vasco Núñez de Balboa Convention Center, will bring together multinational companies, suppliers, government representatives, consultants, agents and freight and passenger transport companies.
The industrial trade fair in Guatemala conducted 1,120 business meetings in which deals worth $100 million were struck.
The figure exceeded the $15 million originally expected by its organizer, the Guatemalan Chamber of Industry, and it was visited by 8,000 people, 2,000 more than expected.
