GUATEMALA - Key representative/s from the Guatemalan Exporters’ Association last 13-15 October attended the 8th TPO Network World Conference to exchange ideas and best practice around stimulating export-led economic growth and meeting the urgent challenges in the sector.
Themed around ‘Building Export Success – Enhancing Trade Promotion Organizations (TPO) Impact in a Changing Global Environment’, the conference, which was hosted in Mexico City from 13 to 15 October, attracted in excess of 150 participants from more than 50 countries.

One of the main topics that AGEXPORT found to be most interesting during the conference was how to confront the economic post crisis at a regional level and how to transform these actions into specific strategies and turn them into long-term attainable objectives rather than short term gains.

AGEXPORT is now more committed and aware of the importance and renewal of training courses and conferences such as the one held by TPO NETWORK in order to stay active and for the institution to remain dynamic inside the commercial environment and the exportation’s promotion.

‘TPOs such as AGEXPORT make a vital contribution to economic growth and development in their regions’, said ITC Executive Director Patricia Francis. ‘ITC is committed to providing a range of tools and resources to support our partner TPOs’ work in providing services that enable enterprises to extend their reach globally and boost exports.’

The TPO Network World Conference is a biennial event. Participants come from trade promotion organizations (TPOs), governmental and private business support organizations, related government ministries, and international and national development agencies interested in trade capacity development.
