38% Increase in Mortgage Loans in El Salvador
In February credit for the construction sector reported a growth of 38.22%.

According to the Salvadoran Chamber for the Construction Industry (Casalco), the industry obtained between the months of January and February about $79 million in loans to build and buy homes, representing an increase of 38.22% compared to the same period in 2011.
The value of construction projects reached $766 million during the first half of 2012, $198 million more than in the first half of 2011, with bank credit underpinning this growth.
During the first half of 2012 618.000 meters square were built, 52.8% more than in the same period in 2011.
Nicaraguan businessmen from the construction industry forecast a growth of 20% by 2012.
