From January to March of this year 12 bids will be held, while the new locks are scheduled to put to tender during the second quarter.
Laestrella.com.pa reports: "According the ACP, four consortiums which pre-qualified to take part in the bidding are preparing their proposals.

To this end they have carried out inspections on the Atlantic and Pacific coast of Panama, where the new locks will be built, in order to gather information needed to prepare their proposals which have to be delivered no later than March 3, 2009.
