Water Supply Works for $288 million

The Panamanian government will most likely award contracts to Odebrecht,Meco-Transcaribe Trading, and Meco-MCM to improve the water supply in Panama and San Miguelito.

If there are no complaints, the $157.8 million contract to Odebrecht will be confirmed, along with one of $33.9 million for the consortium-Meco Transcaribe Trading and a third worth $96.5 million for the M2 consortium formed by Meco and MCM.

"The works consist of the study, design and construction of four distribution lines for drinking water in Panama City and improvements to 14 networks in San Miguelito", reported Prensa.com.

Danna Harrick, director of the National Council for Sustainable Development, the entity in charge of the project, said the funds will come from funds intended for other entities but which not being used.

The Ministry of Works has awarded four contracts for road realignment projects in the city of Panama.

Contracts were awarded to Conalvías, Transacaribe Trading, MCM Global Consorcio Intersecciones and Constructora Meco.

"Conalvías will be responsible for building a viaduct in Avenida de los Martires for $ 29.3 million ... and a viaduct and extension of Avenida de La Amistad for $ 20.5 million” reported Prensa.com.

Panama: 19 Companies Interested in Road Tender

Ten construction companies and nine service companies attended the pre tender meeting for establishing the specifications for the expansion to four lanes of the Inter American Highway from Veraguas to Viguí.

Prensa.com reports: "This is the first of five sections that the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is putting out to tender in order to complete the widening to four lanes of the highway between David and Santiago".

Awards: Aqueduct for $22 million

April 2015

In Panama an award has been given to Constructora Urbana SA for a contract for the design and construction of an aqueduct, sanitation network and wastewater treatment plant in Boquete.

The National Council for Sustainable Development received a total of 9 proposals, the highest was presented by the company ININCO, S.A.
